FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The fall schedule for both Arkansas baseball and softball has been set with the Diamond Classic – an eight-game scrimmage series hosted by Diamond Sports Alliance for each program, featuring one baseball and one softball game over four days in September and October.
The Diamond Classic features three fall exhibition games and a Red-White scrimmage along with a home run derby presented by Wright’s Barbecue for Head Coach Dave Van Horn and the baseball program. Fresh off the program’s first-ever trip to the Women’s College World Series, Head Coach Courtney Deifel and her squad are set for two fall exhibition games and a pair of Red-White scrimmages along with a home run derby presented by Wrights Barbecue.
Bogle Park will open the classic with softball’s Red-White Game at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18. Following each softball game, fans will have an opportunity to meet the players and coaches and get autographs at Baum-Walker Stadium before the baseball game. Later that evening, the baseball Hogs will open their fall series with the Red-White Game and home run derby set to begin at 7 p.m. at Baum-Walker Stadium.
Saturday, Oct. 3 will feature a pair of out-of-town opponents for each program with softball set to take on Tulsa and baseball squaring off against Little Rock. Former softball assistant coach and new Tulsa head coach DJ Gasso will bring his Golden Hurricanes team back to Bogle Park for the first time. Two weeks later, Oklahoma State will roll into Fayetteville to take on Deifel and the Razorbacks with Dallas Baptist in town to take on the Hogs at Baum-Walker Stadium. Game times will be announced at a later date for games scheduled for Saturdays.
The Diamond Classic wraps up on Friday, Oct. 23 with softball hosting a second Red-White Game along with their home run derby at 4 p.m. inside Bogle Park. Van Horn’s Hogs will host UCA at 7 p.m. to conclude fall ball.
Single-game general admission tickets for Diamond Classic baseball games are $17 and include seats in the Baum-Walker Stadium seating bowl from the dugouts extending to the outfield and the Hog Pen. Premium general admission tickets are $27 and include seats in the sections behind the home plate and Hog Heaven. Softball single-game general admission tickets will be $11 and include chairbacks and the Bogle Berm. Series passes that included all four games for baseball and softball are also available with baseball general admission passes for $51, premium general admission for $81 and suite and loge box passes for $91 per ticket.
Softball single-game general admission tickets will be $11 with a series pass for all four games at $33 and suite passes for $63 per ticket. All ticket and series pass prices are inclusive of fees.
Event proceeds from the Diamond Classic will support Name, Image and Likeness opportunities for baseball and softball student-athletes.
