Following yesterday’s five selections, including a nation-leading three first-round draftees, the Razorbacks concluded the 2026 MLB Draft with 12 total players picked in this year’s 20-round format and surpassing the program’s record of 11, which was previously set in 2013 (11 in 40 rounds), 2018 (11 in 40 rounds) and 2025 (11 in 20 rounds). Arkansas finished with the most pitchers drafted (8) and second-most draft selections of any college program, trailing only Georgia (13).
Since 2018, Nate Thompson’s first season as hitting coach and recruiting coordinator, Arkansas boasts a nation-leading 76 overall MLB draft selections, including 42 drafted pitchers and 32 drafted position players in that span. Since Matt Hobbs’ first season as pitching coach in 2019, Arkansas has had 38 pitchers drafted, including 26 pitchers selected in the draft’s first 10 rounds. With eight pitchers selected in this year’s draft, the Razorbacks surpassed their program record for most pitchers selected in a draft, which was previously set in both 2013 (7 in 40 rounds) and 2025 (7 in 20 rounds).
This year’s MLB draft also marked the fifth time in program history that Arkansas had double-digit players selected: 1985 (10 in 39 rounds), 2013 (11 in 40 rounds), 2018 (11 in 40 rounds), 2025 (11 in 20 rounds) and 2026 (12 in 20 rounds).
The deadline for drafted players to sign, except for players who have exhausted college eligibility, is 4 p.m. CT Monday, July 27. The Razorbacks did not have any high school signees selected in this year’s MLB draft – a first since 2004.
