NOTES: This is the second-to-last PGA Tour event of the calendar year. … Duncan sank a 12-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to beat Webb Simpson for his first PGA Tour title last year. It earned Duncan a spot in last week’s Masters, where he missed the cut by five shots. … Five of the 10 previous event winners made The RSM Classic their maiden Tour victory. … Former Masters champions Zach Johnson and Danny Willett are also in this week’s field. … Bill Haas withdrew after testing positive for COVID-19 and was replaced in the field by alternate Vincent Whaley. Meanwhile, Joaquin Niemann returns after being forced to withdraw from The Masters due to a positive COVID-19 test. … Longtime event host Davis Love III will not compete this week due to a neck injury. … Davis Thompson, the top-ranked amateur in the world, is in the field for the second consecutive year.

BEST BETS: Simpson (+850) is the top-ranked player in the field at No. 6 and lost in a playoff last year. He’s coming off a T10 at Augusta National. … Tyrrell Hatton (+1600) will be looking to bounce back from missing the cut at The Masters, but still has a win and three other top-10s in his past seven starts. … Sungjae Im (+2200) played in the final group last week and has risen to No. 18 in the world. … Tommy Fleetwood (+2500) is still seeking his first win on U.S. soil. He’s coming off a T19. … Jason Day (+3500) found his form with four consecutive top-10s over the summer but has a lone top-10 against three missed cuts in his past eight starts. … Justin Rose (+4500) offers enticing odds. The former world No. 1 was in contention last week before carding a 76 on Saturday.
