Day parts with long-time swing coach Swatton

After two decades together, Jason Day has parted ways with mentor and swing coach Colin Swatton.

“It’s been a long and successful road working with Col. I have just decided I want to make a change and work on my own as it pertains to my golf swing,” Day told PGATour.com on Wednesday ahead of this week’s World Golf Championships FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

“Col has been way more than just a caddie and coach to me. I am forever grateful for all he has done for my golf and his continued friendship.”

Day, 32, began working with Swatton at age 12 while attending a boarding school in his native Australia.

“It’s been a privilege to work with Jason since his childhood and I’ll always cherish the ride we’ve shared that took us all the way to the top of the golf world,” Swatton said.

Day has 12 wins on the PGA Tour and spent 51 weeks at No. 1 in the World Golf Rankings from 2015-16, a span that included his only major title at the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.

Day’s last win came at the Wells Fargo Championship in May 2018. He is currently ranked No. 43 in the world, coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes last month at the Workday Charity Open and The Memorial.
