Cleveland Cavaliers, developing players, LeBron’s decision: Crowquill

CLEVELAND, Ohio — With the free agency of LeBron James looming, the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted Collin Sexton, a 19-year-old point guard from Alabama and announced they were getting back to the business of player development. With a roster that skews younger and more athletic than it has been in a while, it makes sense to try and develop the young guys into savvy veterans. Of course, how a player develops probably is dependent on whether or not LeBron decides to stay.If The King stays, it still is possible a promising young guy like Sexton could be traded and end up developing on some other team’s dime. But even if said young guy isn’t traded, learning to play the NBA game with LeBron can be very different from stepping out of his shadow to play it without him.
